CENTENARY OF LÁSZLÓ DETRE’S BIRTH
Magyar Posta is celebrating the centenary of the birth of László Detre by issuing a commemorative stamp.
HUNGARIAN RED CROSS IS 125 YEARS OLD
Magyar Posta is issuing a regular postage stamp to mark the 125th anniversary of the foundation of the Hungarian Red Cross.
50TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE XVI SUMMER OLYMPIC GAMES, MELBOURNE 1956
On 13 November 2006 Magyar Posta is issuing a stamp block to commemorate the medal-winning sportsmen and -women of the Summer Olympiad 50 years ago, in harmony with Magyar Posta’s intention and fulfilling collectors’ expectations. The theme “Olympic History” is expanded biennially and like this the medal winners from the Summer Olympics held prior to 1956 will also feature on a stamp.

BORDER GUARD
Magyar Posta has for three years been issuing regular stamps as a mark of respect for the work of the Border Guard.
79TH STAMP DAY
As is its established practice, Magyar Posta celebrates the day of stamp collectors by issuing a miniature sheet with a surcharge and a set of two stamps. Between 23-25 June 2006 the HUNFILA 2006 International Stamp Exhibition will be held under the auspices of the 79th Stamp Day in Vác.
MAJOR COMPOSERS: BÉLA BARTÓK AND GEORGE ENESCU
Magyar Posta and the Romanian ROMFILATELIA are jointly issuing a commemorative set of stamps entitled “Major Composers”. The designs of the set of two stamps show two major composers, Béla Bartók from Hungary and George Enescu from Romania, to mark the 125th anniversary of their birth.

Magyar Posta added three new sheets to the range of Your Own Stamp on 19 May 2006. The new sheets Your Own Stamp Greetings III (Blue), Your Own Love Stamp and Your First Own Stamp are ideal as gifts or for correspondence. The sheets are recommended dependent on topic for school leaving ceremonies, birthdays or name days, weddings, engagements or the birth of a new baby both for private use and for businesses.

Magyar Posta added two new sheets to the range of Your Own Stamp on 4 May 2006. The elegant sheets Your Own Stamp Greetings I – Roses and Your Own Stamp Greetings II – Flowers are ideal for correspondence or as gifts for coming events such as the approaching school leaving ceremonies or Mother’s Day or for weddings, engagements, birthdays and name days both for private use and for businesses.
OUR LIVING HERITAGE II – HORSES
Magyar Posta has issued a set of stamps with four denominations and a block containing three stamps presenting a few typically Hungarian breeds of horse.

Ferenc Szisz (Szeghalom, 20 Sept 1873 – Auffargis, 21 Feb 1944), the French racing driver of Hungarian origin, won the first Grand Prix.
